Frampton Co created a highly personalized, boldly feminine interior for a rebellious, romantic spirit. Our renovation of the property – an 1848 townhouse in Gramercy Park and the client’s childhood home – sensitively married original classic elements with a past renovation’s sleek architecture, all while bringing cohesion and new vision to the space.
With a complex and fashion-forward palette, we layered ornamentation, glamour, and femininity into the design. Dismantling any sense of rigid formality, we balanced the traditional with playful elements, installing a metallic wallcovering alongside original wood staircases, and multi-hued cocktail lounge chairs for an unexpectedly laid-back dining room.
Custom-commissioned works of art and design offer moments of surprise and reflect the homeowner’s personality: from dramatic, floor-to-ceiling sequin-embroidered drapes; to an Ini Archibong-designed chandelier composed of gleaming, multi-colored glass pendants; and a diptych by Kelly Reemtsen.
