We designed a summer table setting and provided entertaining tips for Manhattan magazine at Bloomingdale’s flagship. Malibu BBQ was the perfect theme to complement Elena’s Southern Californian roots. Malibu’s casual elegance and indoor-outdoor lifestyle inspired our approach.
A summer soiree is the place to experiment and take risks with pattern mixing. Layer patterns with table linens, unexpected combinations add a playful atmosphere. Guests will stay late into the night with the right mix of ambient lighting. Lanterns, candles, and even lights strung in the trees ensure the right setting as the sun sets.
Make statement color-focused centerpieces for a visual punch. We sourced succulents and lemons to showcase color, texture and shapes. The golden-hued votives set the mood. Bloomingdale’s wide selection of ceramics and linens provided the pattern and texture mix.
