We’re excited to announce Frampton Co’s first-ever Winter Show at Exhibition The Barn. Curated by Elena, it’s an expression of boldness, vibrance, and contradiction brought to life.
Picture this: The Barn is wrapped with a custom marigold curtain, enveloping the double height gallery space. You’re immersed in vivid color from the moment you step in off the snowy sidewalks. The volumetric palette study doubles as a metaphoric warm embrace.
Working within a concept of warmth and contradiction, Elena curated photographs by emerging and established artists that bring bursts of color and formal idiosyncrasy into the environment – see the moody works by fresh talent Joshua Olley, and how they pair strikingly with vibrant works by Craig McDean and Jesse Frohman. These photographs carry you to a contemplative place, granting a counter-perspective on the exhibit’s overall vividness.
In partnership with Manhattan-based design gallery Friedman Benda, Elena brought in a selection of absurdist seating from design icons Estudio Campana and Marcel Wanders. These chairs sit with our F Collection works, including a fresh perspective on the Bridgehampton Sofa. (Bird and floral-patterned slipcover in the dead of winter?! Yes, please!)
An omnipresence of curvilinear shapes complements the winding marigold curtain, and abounds in a selection of one-of-a-kind ceramics, and the dancerly, modernist circular area rug from Doris Leslie Blau – sourced in honor of the showroom’s late namesake, an industry titan unparalleled.
The winter show at Exhibition The Barn is an inspirational refuge in the heart of the chilliest season, and an aesthetically complex moment of artistry on display. We can’t wait for our Hamptons-based visitors and the getaway city-dwellers alike to come experience it with us.
