“A historic Brooklyn gem is sensitively reinspirited to suit its next generation of stewards.”⠀
We’re delighted to share that our Brooklyn Townhouse project is this month’s cover star of Luxe Interiors + Design. Our distinct creative perspective and original design solutions are a result of the Frampton Co vision applied to our clients’ generous approach to home. The design is warm, familial, stately – and filled with an air of *spritely curiosity.*
The Luxe spread captures the true essence of our work. Always art-forward, with a focus on placing emerging artists in conversation with established ones. The historic nature of the home focused our design strategy on preserving the good bones while complementing the quirky elements with thoughtful modern updates. The project illustrates our true and intuitive connection with our clients. We are collaborators: we’re broadening their capacity for imaginative choices.
Client Peter Rider attests: “Elena knows what each of our aesthetics are, finds the overlap between them and pushes us to be bolder.”
Here are our favorite moments from the cover story, written by Luxe’s Tate Gunnerson and edited by Grace Beuley, and photographed by our tried-and-true photographer Josh McHugh.
Frampton designed a vibrant art concept, mingling new pieces – including a Jack Youngerman diptych and Andrew Moore photograph flanking the fireplace – with her clients’ collection of flea market finds, freshly framed. “The art is a lead character,” Frampton notes. “It’s a mix of mediums and comes together in a very interesting, personal way.”
The second-floor master suite, which includes a bedroom, a bathroom accessed via a custom walnut dressing room and a “gentleman’s lounge,” is a dreamy retreat all for the grown-ups. ‘That’s the space where said, ‘Let’s have some fun,’” Frampton says of the latter. A wallpaper depicting flowers and tropical birds and midcentury furnishings re-covered in menswear textiles suggest so much.
