Soaring over the city below, an unmistakable presence in Manhattan’s skyline provided the location for this Midtown redesign. Taking compositional cues from the space, we treated the sweeping views the same way we approach art. Dominating the space through floor-to-ceiling windows, the view is complemented by the interior, rather than competing against it. A Patrick Hughes three-dimensional relief painting continues the experience in the living room.
Central Park textures and a color palette that reflects the shifting sky inspired textile and flooring choices, while the owner’s penchant for color and asymmetry was met with formal, tailored pieces and thoughtful engagement with the architecture; all punctuated by custom whimsical accents.
