We’re pleased to present “Dual Natures,” a new group exhibition at The Barn. Artists on view include Christine Keefe, Elizabeth Karsch, Lori Hawkins, Marianna Peragallo, Mia Fonssagrives Solow, and Beau Bree Rhee. From Keefe’s juxtaposition of illusionism and flatness in her paintings, to Karsch’s deliberate abstract mark-making, and Rhee’s powerful symbolic feminine, the work on view conveys strength across a variety of mediums and themes including the natural world, cosmos, and sustainability.
Curated by Elena Frampton, the exhibition brings together a variety of work with regard to medium, scale, and concept. Distinct in spirit and technique, each work is part of a lively dialogue that both highlights each artist’s unique point of view, while contributing to a collective sense of balance. The humor and personality of Peragallo’s sculpture is conveyed in vibrant contrast alongside the mystery and quietude of Hawkins’ black-and-white photography. The lyricism and beauty of the line in Karsch’s abstract paintings is echoed, in minimalist form, by Mia Fonssagrives Solow’s sculptures.
